Features: Tibet has a magical medical book, which we call the "Four Medical Classics." Its importance is no less than that of Traditional Chinese Medicine's "Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon." This medical classic was written by the outstanding Tibetan medical scholar Loden Chokse in the 8th century. Later, it was secretly hidden for a long time to escape the suppression of Buddhism and was only discovered and circulated during the Guge Kingdom period. Thereafter, generations of renowned Tibetan medical masters have commented on, explained, and supplemented it from different perspectives. In the 16th century, the book was introduced to Mongolia along with Tibetan Buddhism, and it was fully translated into Mongolian around the 18th century. Subsequently, various versions in Chinese, English, Russian, Japanese, and other languages appeared one after another, causing a great sensation worldwide.
80 Treasure-Class Medical Thangkas
To make the "Four Medical Classics" more intuitive, easier to understand, and facilitate its transmission, in the late 17th century, Tashi Gyaltsen Chokse gathered all the most famous Tibetan painters and calligraphers to create 80 medical Thangkas based on the original text. These Thangkas are unparalleled in China and are considered rare national treasures.
Illustrating the Original Text with Original Paintings
This book aims to perfectly combine these two great treasures of Tibetan medicine by using illustrations to enlarge and display parts of the Thangkas. While allowing you to enjoy the rare sight of these national treasures, it also imparts wisdom. At the same time, it enables the ancient and mysterious Tibetan medical culture to bring blessings to more people.
