Features: To adapt to the new development of higher education in China, deepen educational and teaching reforms, improve teaching quality, and meet the new requirements of the state and society for talent cultivation, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education issued the guiding document "Teaching Requirements for College English Courses (Trial)" (hereinafter referred to as "Teaching Requirements") in January 2004. As a part of the reform of college English teaching, the reform of the College English Test Band 4 and 6 is also steadily advancing. The purpose of this reform of the College English Test Band 4 and 6 is to more comprehensively measure the comprehensive English application ability of college students and provide an accurate evaluation basis for the implementation of the new "Teaching Requirements," in order to meet the needs of college English teaching in China. The purpose of publishing the "College English Test Band 4 Syllabus (2006 Revision)" is to enable teachers and students to understand the examination objectives, examination content, examination format, language skills and requirements assessed, as well as the new score reporting system and score interpretation after the reform.
