Features: Since the publication of A Textbook of Western Sociological Theory in 2001, it has received the attention and support of many sociological colleagues. Many departments of sociology and social work across various schools have been using this textbook. Through several years of teaching practice, we have found numerous errors and issues in the textbook. To promptly correct these mistakes and problems, at the end of 2004, under the initiative of the book's editor-in-chief, Nankai University Press organized authors from various schools to gather at Nankai University to discuss the revision of A Textbook of Western Sociological Theory. The meeting conducted a serious study and analysis of the errors and issues in the textbook and discussed solutions. The guiding principle for this revision is: based on the original content system, strive to make the selection of materials more scientific, logic clearer, content more accurate, and expressions more accessible. It can be said that after the revision, A Textbook of Western Sociological Theory has undergone significant changes and improvements in both the introduction of the Western sociological theory system and the presentation of specific content, making it more adaptable and capable of meeting the needs of Western sociological theory teaching.
