Picture books are one of the most suitable children's books for parent-child reading. Their high literary and artistic qualities have a subtle and gradual impact on cultivating children's observation, imagination, creativity, and other abilities. The "Smart Beans Picture Book Series" selects excellent picture books from around the world. It is called "Smart Beans" because it truly is smart—lighthearted and humorous text, imaginative illustrations, and engaging stories convey profound topics such as self-awareness, friendship, love, and even the passing of life. Without a single didactic sentence, it meets children's growth needs; without a trace of reasoning, it inspires deep thinking; without a bit of noise, it evokes heartfelt laughter. The nine "Smart Beans" published this time have translations meticulously reviewed by the renowned Chinese children's poet Jin Bo, who also wrote the introduction in his own poetic style. Jin Bo's language is both lively and witty, which will undoubtedly help children appreciate the charm of picture books! The illustrations in this book are very cute, vivid, and colorful, making it a picture book that children will be instantly drawn to. The story begins with the chameleon's troubles, but along the way, there is warm help from friends, as well as various dramatic scenes that bring readers laughter. The ending of the story is unexpected but also natural and reasonable, humorous and witty, making one unable to help but clap with delight!
