“The Smart Picture Book Series” selects excellent picture books from around the world. It is called “Smart” because it truly is smart—its light and humorous text, imaginative illustrations, and amusing stories convey profound topics like self-awareness, friendship, love, and even the passing of life in a gentle and engaging way. Without a single didactic sentence, it meets children's growth needs; without a trace of reasoning, it inspires deep thinking; without a bit of noise, it evokes heartfelt laughter.
The nine “Smart” books published this time have translations meticulously reviewed and refined by the renowned Chinese children's poet Jin Bo, who also wrote the preface in his own poetic style. Jin Bo’s language is both lively and witty, which will undoubtedly help children appreciate the charm of the books!
The story of quitting smoking is rare in picture books, yet this topic is presented with great originality in a story about a dragon. Whether children or adults read it, they can’t help but burst into laughter—truly remarkable!
Whether such stories can help adults quit smoking is debatable, but they are certainly beneficial for cultivating children’s sense of humor and stimulating their imagination!
