Features: The 7th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was the last and most important national congress held during the democratic revolution period. It summarized the Party's history since its founding, since the 6th National Congress, and since the War of Resistance Against Japan, established Mao Zedong Thought, the unity of Marxism-Leninism and China's revolutionary practice, as the Party's guiding ideology, and ushered in the great victories of the Party and the people: the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the establishment of the basic socialist system in China. The 8th National Congress explored China's own path to building socialism. Deepening and strengthening the research on such an important conference is of great value for understanding history, and it also holds significance for inspiring the present. The three major reports at the 7th National Congress (by Mao, Liu, and Zhu) were already published at the time, and some important speeches (by Zhou and Ren) were also published in their collected works. Especially on the 50th anniversary of the 7th National Congress, the "Report and Speeches of Mao Zedong at the 7th National Congress" was published, revealing a batch of previously unpublished oral reports and summary speeches from the 7th National Congress and the 7th Plenary Session of the 7th Central Committee, providing extremely important documentary materials for studying the 7th National Congress and attracting widespread attention and interest. It is said that relevant central units are preparing to cooperate in compiling a historical document collection of the 7th National Congress, providing more detailed archival materials. Historians of the Party history are all looking forward to it. Here, I would like to put forward a hope: that this document collection would ideally include both versions of "On the United Front Government"—one published at the time (at the 7th National Congress) and one published after the founding of the People's Republic of China (in Volume 3 of the "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" in 1953), which was slightly edited. Both versions are official and important, and from the perspective of historical research, neither can be neglected.
