This book is a collection of Guan Jinyi's musical writings, primarily selecting some of his important musical papers and articles since the 1980s. It includes discussions on music education and its reforms, studies on European composers and their creative styles, research on the history of European vocal music, studies on ancient Chinese vocal music and its works, research on vocal music theory, and overviews and discussions on national vocal music papers. Additionally, there are a few essays, memoirs, and articles. Many of these papers have been published in major domestic musical journals and academic journals; some have been used as teaching materials or reference reading for undergraduate and graduate students in several music conservatories, schools, departments, and disciplines; and some have also received attention abroad.
