The years used in the explanations are the old calendar dates, with the corresponding Gregorian dates appended. The ancient place names in the explanations are annotated with their modern names. The index of terms is arranged according to the stroke order index of "Cihai: Historical Supplement (Ancient Chinese History)." This book does not include the official systems after the Xinhai Revolution or the official systems of the peasant uprising regimes in different dynasties.
