Features: "Teaching and Learning Guide for International Finance" is one of the supporting teaching materials for "International Finance," a textbook in the "21st Century International Economics and Trade Professional Series" edited by Que Chengyu (published by Northeast University of Finance and Economics in September 2006). This book is written to deepen students' understanding and learning of the International Finance course. The "International Finance" textbook is divided into three parts:
Part I (including Chapters 1–4) is titled "Fundamentals of International Finance," aiming to introduce the basic knowledge and theories of international finance, including foreign exchange and balance of payments.
Part II (including Chapters 5–9) is titled "International Financial Policy," which covers the "policy" aspect of international finance, focusing on the main macroeconomic policies of a country under an open economy. It first introduces the macroeconomic policies of a single country under open economic conditions, including policy objectives and policy coordination, foreign exchange policy, and international reserve policy. Then, it takes a global perspective to discuss the international monetary system, regional currency cooperation, and international financial organizations.
Part III (including Chapters 10–14) is titled "International Financial Markets and Capital Flows," which covers the "practical" aspect of international finance, including foreign exchange markets and transactions, foreign exchange risk management, international financial markets, international capital flows, and trade financing.
In the main textbook, in addition to the above formal content, each chapter includes some special columns and appendices to help students stay updated on the latest developments related to the course, enriching their professional background. These additional contents are not exam requirements.
As a reference book for the "International Finance" textbook, this book includes two parts:
Part I is a course overview, covering eight aspects: the nature of the course, teaching objectives, applicable majors and grades, total teaching hours and credits, connections and divisions with other courses, textbooks and teaching reference materials, a recommended teaching schedule, and exam question types, to give students a general understanding of the course.
The second part of the book corresponds to the content of the main textbook, with a total of 14 chapters. Each chapter includes seven aspects: learning objectives and requirements, chapter knowledge structure, assessment requirements, key points and difficulties, key concepts, exercises, and answers to exercises.
The first part and the learning objectives and requirements, chapter knowledge structure, and assessment requirements in the second part together constitute the teaching and examination syllabus for this course.
