Features: Founded in 1904, Huanggang High School in Hubei Province became a key high school in Hubei in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students with "comprehensive strengths." It has pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only a glimpse of its abundant teaching achievements. What magic formula does Huanggang High School use to cultivate students? What power does it have to turn sand into a tower? What ability does it possess to transform ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of college entrance exams and passively prepares for tests is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test setters, grasp their underlying principles, and become a leader rather than a blind follower. While Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems, it strongly advocates for students to break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible and diverse problems that are widely applicable, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving. If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while nurturing and shaping a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements. To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books by frontline teaching staff: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School Middle School Entrance Exam Comprehensive Review," as well as "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials." The "Huanggang High School Homework Books" series is based on the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Exam Syllabus," highlighting the role of "exams" in the process of students forming learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. It reflects the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' brilliant performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice. This series features a carefully designed format with four main sections: "Pre-Class Warm-up," "In-Class Homework," "After-Class Homework," and "Exam Online," providing intensive training to enhance students' abilities. It also has the following features: 1. Appropriate exercise positioning: The exercises in this series are divided into two sets, A and B, with the former being easier and the latter more challenging. The selection of problems focuses on reinforcing and progressively improving the key points, types, and methods related to each topic. The positioning of the series is to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive exercises in ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive formats. 2. Moderate difficulty gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult problems in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most secondary schools. Most problems are labeled with A, B, or C to indicate their difficulty levels, with clear and appropriate requirements. 3. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations for difficult problems. It is particularly worth mentioning that the well-timed hints sometimes play a pivotal role. This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the problems created by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
