Features: The countryside is the foundation of China's economic development, social stability, and national self-reliance. The provision of health services and the healthcare status of rural residents are undoubtedly the most prominent indicators of the development level of rural health, as well as a crucial guarantee for social stability and economic growth. Supported and funded by the National Outstanding Young Talent Fund, the former Ministry of Education's Cross-Century Talent Fund, and other programs, this book conducts systematic research on medical and health institutions at all levels, 49 townships, and 174 villages across 12 counties (cities, districts) in three eastern provinces (municipalities). Through qualitative and quantitative analysis of 9,781 households, it examines the key issues, root causes, and mechanisms in the implementation of medical, prevention, and health protection functions in rural areas, explores suitable development models and approaches for China's rural health work in terms of mechanisms, organizational systems, and management systems, as well as the corresponding reform policies and logical steps.
