Features: This book is a teaching material designed for advanced-level Japanese language courses in universities, specifically for the intensive reading courses of Japanese major students in their 3rd and 4th years. It can also be used as a textbook for writing, translation, and reading courses in Japanese major programs. The book is divided into two volumes, consisting of 12 units and 36 lessons. The first volume includes 6 units and 19 lessons (Units 1–6), while the second volume includes 6 units and 17 lessons (Units 7–12).
The two major features of this book are:
1. A completely new format and structure. The book is composed of main texts, key knowledge points, vocabulary and expressions, exercise questions, reflection questions, and supplementary texts. The main text and new vocabulary are arranged side by side for easy comprehension. All vocabulary is explained in Japanese without Chinese translations, which helps students accurately understand word meanings and master natural Japanese. A "Key Knowledge Points" section is included to highlight and explain specialized knowledge from the texts in Japanese, broadening students' knowledge. The "Vocabulary and Expressions" section focuses on one or more linguistic points per lesson, aiding in both text comprehension and deepening students' understanding of language expression methods. The exercise and reflection questions are practical, and reference translations for grammar and translation exercises are provided at the end of the book. Each lesson includes supplementary texts closely related to the main text for post-class reading and reference.
2. A completely new perspective and selection of materials. The 12 units in the book are both independent and interconnected, complementing each other. These units are organized from the perspectives of "focusing on Japan," "focusing on the world," and "focusing on humanity." They address both material and spiritual issues, as well as both present-day reflections and future outlooks. Each unit's articles are carefully selected to ensure broad perspectives and fresh content. The main and supplementary texts used in this book are newly introduced in primary Japanese textbooks, featuring cutting-edge topics, vivid and dynamic language, and a strong sense of modernity.
