Features: "Research on the Urban-Rural Spatial Development Plan for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region" is one of the key research topics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major project—"Basic Theories and Typical Examples of Sustainable Development of Chinese Human Settlements," and also a project supported by Tsinghua University's "985" Research Fund. After the publication of the first report of "Research on the Urban-Rural Spatial Development Plan for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region," the research team from Tsinghua University, under the leadership of Academician Wu Liangyong, continued to focus on changes in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and conducted ongoing tracking research. In the face of rapid development and new demands for regional planning, guided by the Scientific Outlook on Development, the principles, concepts, directions, and strategic issues raised in the first report regarding the development of the Beijing-Tianjin region were deepened and specified. The second report particularly emphasizes implementing regional research in the broad spatial context of urban-rural areas, adopting the concept of the capital region and the new Ji County, based on a comprehensive review of the urban master plans of Beijing and Tianjin and the urban system plan of Hebei Province. Using a critical integration approach, it aims to independently innovate and advance the research on the spatial strategic development plan for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to achieve both a good living environment and a harmonious society. The book is richly illustrated and highly readable, making it suitable for urban and regional planning theorists and practitioners, urban planning and construction management professionals, government leaders, and students and faculty in relevant fields.
