Features: This book reflects the spirit of the Ministry of Education's proposal to promote quality-oriented education and adjust the teaching content and requirements of secondary schools. It strives to be appropriately challenging, avoiding bias or obscurity, highlighting key points, covering a broad range of topics, and focusing on expansion and extension while staying closely aligned with the textbook. It emphasizes the cultivation of students' language skills. The book mainly consists of two parts: Part 1, which is synchronized with the textbook, providing explanations and exercises on key points; and Part 2, which is dedicated to junior high school entrance examination (JSEE) review.
Part 1 includes explanations, text translations, and answers to after-class exercises for Units 11-15 and the Review of Units 11-15 from the textbook. Each unit is composed of the following sections:
Exploration Objectives help students summarize the key vocabulary, phrases, sentence patterns, grammar points, and difficulties of the unit, giving them a clear understanding of the goals and requirements they should achieve through learning.
Exploration Guidance includes "Knowledge Palace" and "Practical Activities." In the "Knowledge Palace," selected key points of each unit are analyzed, explained, and illustrated in depth. The examples and language analysis are carefully designed, with systematic explanations, concise narratives, clarity, and targeted training. Common errors students make are also analyzed, and detailed explanations of grammar highlights are provided.
The purpose of "Practical Activities" is to encourage students to apply what they have learned to real-life situations, promoting both interest in learning English and reinforcement of knowledge. Each activity includes examples. Through this part, students can deepen their understanding of the content, expand their knowledge, and elevate their learning.
Happy Packets serve to strengthen students' fundamental skills and abilities in language, vocabulary, grammar, and communication. The goal is to broaden students' horizons while improving their ability to adapt to various question types and their psychological preparedness for exams. At the end of each unit, there is a "Read and Reflect" section with bilingual (Chinese-English) content, combining knowledge and fun to expand students' knowledge and further enhance their English proficiency.
To help students better understand and master the textbook, we provide "Direct Translation of Text" and "Answers to After-Class Exercises," which are included at the back of the book.
The second part, JSEE Review, includes "Grammar Review" and "Listening Guidance."
Grammar Review is organized by topic, with each topic including "Basic Grammar Explanation," "Analysis of Typical Examples," and "Past JSEE Practice Exercises." These sections summarize grammar concepts, select representative examples for detailed analysis, and incorporate targeted practice exercises using past JSEE questions from various regions to reinforce learning.
Listening Guidance provides detailed explanations of the examination format, ability requirements, problem-solving techniques, and key considerations for JSEE listening comprehension. It is accompanied by several sets of listening simulation tests. After carefully reading the guidance, students can practice "real-time drills," which we believe will be highly beneficial.
At the end, there are three sets of JSEE simulation tests to comprehensively assess students' mastery of junior high school English and provide them with an experience of the actual exam.
The book provides detailed answers to the Happy Packets, comprehensive test questions, JSEE practice exercises, listening simulation tests, and JSEE simulation tests for each unit. These answers are included for students to check after practice, ensuring timely feedback and correction, so they can truly learn and grow from their efforts.
