Features: Still-life sketching is an important stage in the process of learning sketching and one of the fundamental courses in art. During our learning process, we gradually transition from sketching plaster geometric models to simple still-life sketches, and then to complex combined still-life sketches, following the principle of proceeding from simple to complex, from shallow to deep, and step by step, thereby mastering the correct observation and expression methods of sketching. The observation and expression methods of combined still-life sketching can be simply summarized into three points:
1. Observe and draw with understanding.
2. Observe as a whole and draw as a whole.
3. Observe in three dimensions and draw in three dimensions.
Dimensionality is one of the basic characteristics of any object. To depict the three-dimensional and spatial sense of an object on a flat sheet of paper is also a fundamental requirement in the basic training of sketching. Understanding the still-life subject in sketching can be achieved through the study of plaster geometric models, which helps grasp the principle that objects are composed of surfaces. This principle holds universal significance for expressing other complex forms.
