Features: The five-volume edition of "Commentaries on Famous Historical Works of China" is a revised and improved version based on the original three-volume edition from 1990. The revision mainly includes three aspects: First, the commentaries on the original 86 historical works were proofread and revised; second, 14 ancient and modern historical works were added, along with 22 additional works related to history, including notes, bibliographies, historical reference books, encyclopedias, and series; third, 70 modern historical works were supplemented, covering various fields of historical research and divided into the fourth and fifth volumes. The selection of works primarily considers their status and influence in the field of history, or their ability to provide essential historical knowledge to a broad readership.
