Features: This book introduces ecological research methods into the study of enterprise clusters, conducting model development, simulation analysis, and evolutionary path design. It preliminarily establishes an evolutionary analysis framework for enterprise clusters, advancing the theory of industrial clusters methodologically, and analyzes the generation and evolutionary paths of enterprise clusters as well as firm behavior.
First, using relevant theories from ecology and evolutionary theory, it establishes an enterprise cluster ecosystem, constructs theoretical models, and simulates the evolutionary paths of enterprise clusters through stages such as establishment, convergence, cross-regional expansion, and failure or re-establishment. Combining cost-benefit principles, it proposes new concepts such as location cost, location benefit, agglomeration cost, and agglomeration benefit, revealing the process of peripheral firms joining the cluster and the cooperative symbiotic relationships among firms within the cluster, while identifying the trajectory of enterprise cluster expansion.
Second, addressing the cooperative supply relationships after firm migration, it examines and explains the conditions, key considerations, and decision variables for continued cooperation under different types of scenarios, summarizing the key points managers should grasp when making decisions about relationship rebuilding.
Finally, based on the views proposed by scholars, it organizes a relational model between the causes of enterprise agglomeration, agglomeration intensity, firm behavior, and firm performance. Selecting 121 enterprises from Hangzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, it uses regression analysis and canonical correlation analysis models to validate the hypotheses.
The content of this book is highly systematic and offers a novel research perspective. It serves as a valuable reference for teaching and research in regional economics, business management, and related fields at universities and research institutions, as well as providing significant guidance for managers engaged in business operations.
