Publishing Date: 2005-01-01
Features: This book is one of the "New Technologies in Civil Engineering Series" compiled by the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. It was written in accordance with new codes and specifications to meet the needs of teaching and engineering. The book consists of eleven chapters, divided into two parts. The first part is the Basic Content Section. It includes:
High-rise Building Structural Systems and Layout;
Loads and Design Requirements;
Internal Force and Displacement Calculations for Frame Structures;
Internal Force and Displacement Calculations for Shear Wall Structures;
Internal Force and Displacement Calculations for Frame-Shear Wall Structures;
Frame Design and Construction;
Shear Wall Design and Construction.
These seven chapters are written for engineering technicians and students to learn and understand the basic content of high-rise concrete structures. During the writing process, emphasis was placed on fundamental concepts, and the calculation methods described were primarily designed for manual computation. To highlight the core content, the material was carefully selected, and explanations were kept concise. For the benefit of beginners, as well as to facilitate teaching and learning, each chapter includes examples, and thought questions and exercises are provided at the end of each chapter.
The second part is the Advanced and Special Topics Section. It includes:
Calculation and Design of Rigid Frame Structures;
Principles and Program Introduction of Computer Calculation Methods for High-rise Building Structures;
Time-History Analysis of Seismic Response for High-rise Building Structures;
Analytical and Semi-Analytical Ordinary Differential Equation Solvers for High-rise Building Structure Analysis.
These four chapters are written to enhance understanding and meet specialized needs. Compared to the previous edition, this edition more comprehensively reflects the requirements of new codes and specifications, particularly in design and construction aspects. The examples have been strengthened, especially in Chapters 5 to 7, where the entire process of engineering calculation and design for a frame-shear wall structure is presented as a case study. The content of this book is closely aligned with China's engineering practices and also reflects some research achievements from domestic and international sources, as well as our own. This book can be used as a textbook or teaching reference for undergraduate students in building construction, or as a self-study reference for engineering technicians, researchers, and others in related fields.
