Features: Nursing is a highly practical and applied discipline. With the establishment of the market economy system and the transformation of nursing work models, theoretical and practical research in nursing have undergone profound changes. Although various versions of the "Fundamentals of Nursing" textbook have been published in recent years, no similar books in this format suitable for clinical nurses and nursing students/teachers have been officially published yet. "Basic Nursing Technology Operation Procedures and Scoring Standards" is written by middle-aged and young nursing experts from four departmental institutions in our province, who have long been engaged in clinical nursing, nursing management, and nursing education. It emphasizes both theoretical and practical aspects, as well as both traditional practices and new theories, knowledge, and technologies. The book will be published by Hubei Science and Technology Press and will serve as a guide for the examination and assessment of nurses' basic theories, knowledge, and skills. The book is divided into seventeen chapters, including topics such as basic aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, bed-making, oral care, pressure ulcer prevention and care, ethanol bathing, oral medication administration, injection techniques, intravenous infusion and blood transfusion, catheterization for female patients, enema procedures, oxygen inhalation, electric suction, nasogastric feeding, recording 24-hour fluid intake, isolation techniques, and body care for the deceased. Based on the latest national unified textbooks for undergraduate and vocational nursing programs, combined with the actual nursing and clinical practices in our province, the book covers both basic nursing technology operations and emergency technology operations. It has added procedures and scoring standards for such operations as hands-only CPR, oral medication administration, intravenous catheter infusion, using disposable catheter kits for female patients, central oxygen supply, and recording 24-hour fluid intake. The content is novel and comprehensive, striving to reflect the latest achievements in nursing, clinical practice, and nursing research, while also highlighting the widespread use of new nursing tools in clinical settings.
