Metal Plastic Processing: Rolling Theory and Technology

Author: Wang Tingpu
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-02-01
Features: Since its publication in May 1988, this book has received praise from students and engineering professionals in the field of metal pressure processing (plastic processing). It has been printed six times so far, with over 15,000 copies in circulation. The book covers fundamental rolling theory while also elaborating on modern rolling technology for steel and non-ferrous metal alloys. It combines theory with practical application, offering comprehensive and systematic content that reflects the development of the discipline and meets the requirements of higher education teaching. For this reason, it was awarded the First Prize in Excellent Teaching Materials by the former Ministry of Metallurgy. However, over time, some parts of the book have become outdated due to the advancement of modern rolling technology and no longer fully meet the needs of a broad readership. Therefore, based on the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" for textbook publication by the former Ministry of Metallurgy, we have decided to revise this book. It includes topics such as rolling theory, the fundamentals of rolling technology, the production of profiles and bar/rod materials, as well as the production processes and theories of tubing.
