Upon enrollment, they should have mastered basic Russian phonetics and grammar, possess a receptive command of approximately 1,800 words (including about 1,200 words for active use), and have undergone preliminary training in reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Students whose entry-level requirements are below or above the aforementioned standards may refer to relevant sections of this syllabus on "Teaching Arrangements" for guidance.
II. Teaching Objectives
The objective of university Russian language teaching is to cultivate students' strong reading skills, certain listening and translation abilities, and preliminary writing and speaking skills, enabling them to use Russian as a tool to acquire professional information. University Russian language teaching should help students master effective language learning methods, build a solid language foundation, enhance their cultural literacy, and develop their language application and information exchange capabilities to meet the needs of social development and economic construction.
This book serves as a guiding document for university Russian language teaching, providing the basis for teaching arrangements, textbook compilation, and quality assessment. It consists of the main text of the syllabus, a vocabulary list, a grammar table, a functional-notional table, a language skills table, and appendices. This edition places greater emphasis on quality education, replacing specialized reading courses with specialized Russian courses, adjusting the vocabulary list, and adding content related to semantic grammar and discourse.
