Features: When it comes to network security, many individual users might say, "I'm just a private user, there's nothing worth a hacker's attention." If you think this way, you're wrong. The attacks carried out by hackers and crackers are not always aimed at government, corporate, or military websites. They often use scanning software to conduct large-scale port scans on a range of addresses. From this perspective, the probability of personal users and government/corporate users being attacked is the same. Many attackers take pleasure in recklessly disrupting others' systems, and some are even driven by profit, stealing various passwords and personal privacy information, such as internet account passwords, credit card account passwords, and email account passwords.
Another reason why personal user systems are favored by hackers is that hackers need to hide their identities. They rarely attack others' computers directly using their own machines. If they carry out direct attacks, even the most skilled hackers cannot determine whether the log files and firewall records of the attacked system include their own IP addresses. Therefore, most of the time, hackers look for others' computers to use as a "jumping-off point." At this point, they often need to target personal users' computers because these systems are easily compromised and controlled.
An increasing number of attack cases show that personal user security has become a significant in network security. Due to the weak security awareness of most personal users, many attacks on government and corporate networks often begin with the compromise of personal user systems. In the face of increasingly rampant attacks on personal users, users must always worry about whether their personal information will be stolen, whether their account passwords will be compromised, and whether their computer systems will be infected with trojans and viruses. Users must seek protection for their networks, defend against various attacks, and prevent themselves from becoming prey for hackers and crackers.
This book was written in the context of growing attention to personal user network security. It aims to guide personal users in improving their network security awareness.
Main Content
This book is written from the perspective of the security needs of ordinary users, introducing relevant knowledge about personal security settings and prevention. By studying this book, readers can enhance their network security skills, reduce the probability of their computer systems being attacked, and ultimately improve their overall network security.
This book primarily covers basic knowledge of network security and fundamental preventive methods. Through learning these concepts and methods, it hopes to help readers improve their online security. The specific content of the book is arranged as follows:
Chapter 1 introduces some basic concepts of network security and the current state of network security. By studying this chapter, users can gain a clearer understanding of network security and also recognize the importance of network security.
Chapters 2 and 3 focus on email and OICQ, including hidden security issues in email, how to use email correctly, the security history of OICQ, an analysis of OICQ hacker software, and safe OICQ usage. Through these chapters, users can gain a comprehensive understanding of the security of email and OICQ and will have a deeper understanding of their security settings.
Chapter 4 introduces basic knowledge of viruses, the top 10 new viruses, and preventive measures against new viruses. It also emphasizes how to determine if a computer is infected, how to choose antivirus software, and practical usage of common antivirus software. By studying this chapter, readers will become skilled "knowing both themselves and others" in antivirus defense.
Chapter 5 introduces the 20 most dangerous security vulnerabilities in operating systems. It also highlights the security of using the IE browser to access web pages, which is of great significance to users' online activities and allows them to browse any website with confidence.
Chapter 6 provides a detailed introduction to various aspects of hackers, including their objectives, methods, and some tools they use. By studying this chapter, users can gain a comprehensive understanding of hackers.
Chapter 7 explains the principles and characteristics of trojans, how to detect them, and the basic features and removal methods of the top 10 trojans used domestically and internationally. It concludes with an explanation of how to use the famous domestic "Hailong" trojan. By studying this chapter, users can effectively prevent trojan intrusions.
Chapter 8 introduces the principles of firewalls and the use of personal firewalls, as well as a comparison of several commonly used firewalls, which provides guidance for users in selecting firewalls.
Features
This book uses a simple and easy-to-understand writing style to introduce relevant knowledge of computer network security, helping readers progress from a beginner to a skilled practitioner in network security. The combination of theory and practice allows readers to gain theoretical knowledge while receiving practical guidance, making it highly practical and instructive.
Target Audience
The primary audience of this book is novice network users. However, readers with some understanding of network security can also use it as a reference manual.
