Tourist Guide English Conversation

Author: Qi Qinghua, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1999-03-01
Features: Compared to similar books published domestically, this book has the following characteristics:
(1) Broad content with strong targeting. The 48 topic conversations in the book are carefully selected based on the author's years of teaching experience and the hot issues summarized from foreign affairs activities, making them highly practical.
(2) Prominent features of Chinese-English interpretation. During the writing process, attention was paid to the characteristics of interpretation: a style that falls between written English and spoken English expressions. It balances both while emphasizing the conveyance of ideas.
(3) Relatively up-to-date materials with a strong sense of the times. The data and examples in the book are based on publicly reported materials from late 1996 and the first half of 1997.
(4) Novel language expression, easy to remember. After the manuscript was completed, it was reviewed and polished by Mr. Dick Colclough and Mrs. Joan Colclough, British experts from the Tourism Department of Nankai University. From the perspective of British tourists, they provided many suggestions on the use of language and the expression of meaning, making the language more colloquial and easier for foreign tourists to understand.
(5) Each unit includes a certain number of word and phrase explanations to help readers master common vocabulary and usage.
