Features: During the preparation of this code, references were made to relevant domestic and international codes, in-depth investigations were conducted, and multiple exchanges were held with scientific research, design, construction, and user units. On the basis of extensive solicitation of opinions, mature engineering design and application experiences in the configuration of fire extinguishers for building fires both domestically and internationally were actively absorbed. Combined with the current engineering realities of China, after repeated discussions and careful revisions, the code was finally reviewed and approved by relevant departments. The code is divided into 7 chapters, 13 sections, and 6 appendices. The main content of this comprehensive revision includes:
1. Added a chapter on "Terminology and Symbols";
2. Added "Water-type fire extinguishers for Class B fires," changing the previous situation where China's water-type fire extinguishers could only extinguish Class A fires but not Class B fires;
3. Adjusted the height of the fire extinguisher base from not less than 0.15m to 0.08m;
4. For fire extinguisher installation points with visual obstructions, luminous signs indicating their positions should be installed;
5. Class A fire extinguisher configuration standards;
6. Class B fire extinguisher configuration standards;
7. Fire extinguisher reduction coefficient;
8. Building fire extinguisher configuration design calculation procedures;
9. Changed "Fire effectiveness" to "Fire extinguishing efficiency and general applicability of fire extinguishers" and made it one of the factors to consider when selecting fire extinguishers;
10. When different types of fires exist in the same place, universal-type fire extinguishers should be used;
11. Removed the management-related provisions for halon fire extinguishers;
12. Added the provision that "the location and quantity of fire extinguisher installation points should be determined based on the maximum protection distance of the fire extinguishers." etc.
