Features: This book explores the interdisciplinary field from the perspective of systems engineering, attempting to identify the factors that affect urban ecological security, analyze and explore them, aiming to optimize and integrate the subsystems of urban ecological security, form a theoretical framework and basic system for urban ecological security, and provide an important theoretical research foundation for further establishing an evaluation system. The book proposes the concept of urban ecological security based on ecosystems, arguing that "urban ecological security" has two meanings: First, whether the urban ecosystem itself is safe, i.e., whether its structure is damaged; second, whether the urban ecosystem is safe for humans. The author links urban ecological security to the degree of assurance, defining it as the degree of assurance and carrying capacity of urban humans in production, life, and health, free from the impacts of ecological destruction and environmental pollution, and demonstrates from the perspective of disaster science the destruction, decline of the ecological environment, and the adverse effects of human-induced disasters on urban ecological security, as well as preventive measures. The book also elevates the traditional narrow sense of urban ecological research to the level of urban ecological security research. Through the revision of the EFAA model and the PSR model, the integrated analysis of the comprehensive evaluation index system for urban ecosystem health, and the measurement indicators for the development scale of the urban ecosystem, the book attempts to propose the CES model and the concept of ecological security degree. From a new perspective, it identifies the key supporting factors that significantly affect urban ecological security, such as urban water environment, land resources, soil erosion, built environment, urban site selection, and technical and management strategies. Finally, case studies are provided to analyze the construction of urban ecological security. This book serves as an important reference for research, decision-making, and management in related fields, as well as a teaching material for relevant majors in higher education institutions.
