Features: This textbook was developed based on the "Basic Requirements for Teaching Structural Mechanics in Higher Industrial Schools" approved by the State Education Commission, as well as current teaching practices and the planning of textbook series in the field of structural engineering. It can serve as a textbook for structural mechanics in majors such as industrial and civil construction, civil and structural engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, hydraulic structure engineering, underground construction, railway and highway engineering, etc. It is also suitable for reference by students and engineering professionals in other civil engineering-related fields. The book is published in two volumes. The first volume includes: Introduction, Geometric Analysis of Plane Systems, Internal Force Analysis of Statically Determinate Structures, Influence Lines of Statically Determinate Structures, Displacement Calculation of Statically Determinate Structures, and Force Method for Solving Indeterminate Structures. The second volume includes: Displacement Method, Approximate Methods, Matrix Displacement Method, Influence Lines of Indeterminate Structures, Ultimate Load of Connections, Elastic Stability of Structures, and Structural Dynamics. Among these, the content marked with an asterisk () is optional. Different majors can choose according to their needs. Each chapter is accompanied by a rich set of exercises, with answers provided for some of them. During the writing process, efforts were made to ensure appropriate content selection, a balance between theory and practice, clear explanations, making it convenient for both instructors to teach and students to self-study.
