Features: In the process of teaching surveying in landscape architecture, we often feel the lack of a suitable textbook for our major. For a long time, we have been troubled by two issues: one is how to closely integrate the theory and practice of surveying with landscape engineering construction, so that surveying technology can better serve the construction of landscape projects; the other is how to reflect the overall and operational nature of landscape engineering surveying in teaching? Based on such reflections, we conducted in-depth research on construction sites of landscape projects, discussed with on-site construction technicians, and continuously improved classroom teaching by incorporating new technologies, methods, and equipment in surveying in recent years. After referring to numerous works by peer experts, we finally formed this textbook. In the writing of this textbook, we have always focused on the following aspects and made them the main features of the book: 1. Reflect the overall nature of landscape engineering surveying. Since landscape engineering involves multiple sub-projects such as civil construction, greening, and municipal pipelines, their implementation is often carried out independently by different construction units. Therefore, maintaining the overallity of surveying work and unifying the coordinate system is very important. 2. Demonstrate the operability of landscape engineering surveying. By using examples to illustrate the tools, processes, methods, and steps of landscape engineering surveying, it provides strong reference value. 3. Closely integrate with the actual landscape engineering. Since landscape engineering surveying is a specialized work in landscape engineering, some steps related to surveying have been appropriately described. 4. Appropriately combine with new technologies. The new instruments, technologies, and methods related to landscape engineering surveying are introduced to help students apply these new technologies more quickly and effectively in the future.
