Features: A sound policy and legal system is the key to effectively protecting wetlands and achieving sustainable utilization of wetland resources. By establishing and improving the legal system, wetlands and their resources can be protected and utilized sustainably, thereby effectively realizing the comprehensive benefits of wetlands. Research on Wetland Protection Legislation in China is an academic work based on the research report of the Study on Wetland Resource Protection Legislation in China, jointly funded by the Wildlife and Plants Conservation Department of the State Forestry Administration (SFA) and the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), and the Wetland Department of the Wildlife and Plants Conservation Department of the SFA. After multiple revisions, it has been developed into a specialized academic work focusing on the legislative issues of wetland resource protection and management in China. From an objective perspective, there are two prominent aspects of this book that can provide some comfort to the authors: First, both this book and its predecessor Research on Wetland Resource Protection Legislation in China represent significant achievements in systematically studying wetland protection legislation in China, and in this sense, the book indeed pioneered the history of specialized research on wetland protection legislation in the country. Second, the book includes a wealth of foundational data on the current state of wetland management in China, information on the current state of wetland protection legislation in China, and textual materials on wetland protection legislation and policies from typical countries abroad. These can also provide very valuable references for future researchers to continue in-depth studies on wetland protection legislation in China.
