Features: The author has been engaged in the construction industry for over forty years and continues to work at the grassroots level. He has participated in the construction practice, quality control, accident handling, assessment of hazardous buildings, and dispute resolution of many projects. The construction site is a large "laboratory," and the unit project is a 1:1 full-scale "specimen." I am one of the countless practitioners and testers. Each of my articles is a "test report." Here, I have selected and revised over 200 technical articles accumulated since the reform and opening-up, organizing them into a book. The examples in the book record the practices of many colleagues, peers, and the author himself, including both successful experiences and failed lessons. They represent the hard-won achievements of many colleagues and peers, as well as my personal efforts. The construction of our country has involved enormous investments from the state and people, and it has also come at a certain "cost." Many construction peers have dedicated their youth, health, and even precious lives to the nation's development, with the price being immeasurable. The hard-won achievements of construction peers are our valuable material and intellectual wealth. I have a responsibility to record and organize them (and share my personal reflections), making them a shared treasure for all construction peers. While the construction industry has rapidly developed and technology has advanced, issues such as unsafe main structures, various cracks, rough decorative work, leakage in waterproofing areas, and industrial accidents continue to trouble us. My motivation for writing this book is to contribute a small effort toward improving engineering quality and reducing or even preventing similar accidents. During the writing process, I referred to some literature and relevant construction project management experiences. I sincerely thank the authors of the literature and the creators of the experiences.
