II. Basic Knowledge of Safe Operation
1. Before welding operations, insulated shoes must be worn, insulated gloves must be put on, and face shields must be used.
2. The installation and removal of the welding machine power supply must be performed by an electrician.
3. The welding machine should be equipped with a separate switch box; the primary and secondary sides should have protective covers; the secondary side should be equipped with an anti-electric shock protector.
4. Before starting welding operations, check whether the welding machine and tools are in good condition and safe. If leakage is found, replace them before use.
5. The welding machine and switch box should be well-protected against rain. When operating the switch, wear gloves and work sideways.
6. The welding clamp and lead wire must be well-insulated and securely connected. When changing electrodes, wear gloves. When working in damp areas, stand on insulating rubber boards or wooden boards.
8. No welding or cutting operations are allowed without obtaining firework approval.
9. Oxygen and acetylene cylinders should be avoided from collision and violent shaking, and should not be exposed to sunlight. When frozen, use hot water to warm them, but never heat them with fire. Oil must not be on the oxygen cylinder body, oxygen gauge, or welding/cutting tools.
10. Flammable and explosive materials should be cleared around the welding site, or covered and isolated.
11. When multiple welding machines are used together for welding, the welding platform or workpiece must be grounded, and light-blocking shields must be provided.
12. In work sheds, open flames must be accompanied by fire-fighting equipment, and must be supervised by.
13. Welding or cutting is strictly prohibited on pressurized containers or pipelines. Electrically powered equipment must be disconnected from the power supply first.
14. Welding operations in open areas must be stopped during thunderstorms.
15. When welding or cutting containers or pipelines that have stored flammable, explosive, or toxic materials, they must be thoroughly cleaned and all openings must be opened. Welding or cutting is strictly prohibited in enclosed containers or tanks.
16. When igniting, the welding torch must not point at people. A burning welding torch must not be placed on workpieces or the ground.
17. When moving lead wires to a new location, cut off the power supply first and do not climb ladders or heights while holding the lead wire and connecting it to the welding torch.
18. When removing slag, wear protective goggles or a face shield to prevent slag from splashing and injuring people.
19. After welding operations, cut off the welding machine power supply and check the work area to ensure there is no fire hazard before leaving.
20. The distance between oxygen cylinders and acetylene cylinders must be no less than 5 meters, and the distance from open flames must be no less than 10 meters. Acetylene cylinders must not be placed upside down.
