Features: The annual main competition of the Chinese Institute of Architectural Design, Indoor Design Branch has successfully been held for 8 editions. The 2004 Eshenuo Cup Grand Prize Competition is about to be announced and awarded. I have reviewed the works submitted for this competition and am very pleased. First, I noticed that many young designers participated, including those from remote areas, reflecting the rapid growth and improvement in the level of young designers in our country. In the past two decades, China's interior design industry has developed rapidly, with many outstanding designers creating high-standard works. The overall improvement of the more than 200,000 designers across the country is crucial. Only with a large number of high-level designers and well-supported design firms can we meet the needs of the times and fully enhance the quality of living environments in China. We place our hope in the majority of young designers, who constitute the backbone of the design team. We hope that this competition platform can play a role in showcasing and nurturing outstanding young designers. We also warmly welcome young designers from all walks of life to use this platform to display their talents and, to exchange ideas and learn from each other, and to quickly improve their design skills and expertise.
