In the 1980s, he was involved in hosting General Secretary Hu Yaobang's visit to the UK from London and participated in the preparatory work for Queen Elizabeth's visit to China. During his tenure in Chicago, USA, he visited numerous cities across nine states in his consular district, gaining an in-depth understanding of American society, making friends with people from all walks of life, and promoting China's achievements in reform and opening up. This book uses time as the longitude and events as the latitude to record the unforgettable people and experiences from the author's career as a diplomatic officer, especially the joys and sorrows of being a diplomatic courier.
