Features: When I picked up the pen, it was already 1 a.m. on July 29th. The brought by Typhoon Andy were striking my window at that moment, while I was struggling to write this article under the dim candlelight. The candlelight reminded me of typhoon nights in my childhood. Back then, I looked forward to typhoons not just because they meant school holidays, but also because they brought me candlelight. I was never content with stability and always pursued change. I never settled into a fixed writing style and demanded constant breakthroughs. My heart seemed to constantly urge and remind me, "Hurry! Hurry! Prosperity is about to fade, and decline is about to arrive!" Drifting and nostalgia are the best ingredients for romance, while youthful passion is the perfect bed for it. The romance in this book is filled with the vitality of the author's past youth, so all the chapters collected here are the most beautiful moments of the author's life. When I was romantic collects poems, essays, and paintings from the author's age of twenty-three to twenty-five. At twenty-three, I was still in college, but had already taken my girlfriend to the court to get a notarized marriage certificate, which could be considered the happiest period of my life. In my thirty-fifth year, after spending many years abroad, I returned to the land where I grew up and reflected on my past youth. As for the twelve years in between, they were the most transformative phase of my life. I hosted programs, produced news commentary, worked as a journalist, traveled abroad to lecture, studied overseas, drifted from place to place, and finally settled in New York. Was youth truly wonderful? It gave me boundless energy. I descended from what others considered the peak and climbed yet another mountain after another. Youth also filled me with fantasies and dreams, and I tried to make those dreams come true. These twelve years were such a precious golden age in life! I had a wife, children, a house, but then gave them up to travel alone to a foreign land, and later brought the family back to fulfill a beautiful dream. Yet, I still missed my hometown and returned to China alone once more.
