Features: When Liu Haisu wrote the preface for World Nudity Photography (1988), he stated: "Nude art has a long history. Long before the Christian era, Greek sculpture was a masterpiece of the dawn of human culture, and ancient Rome also valued nude sculpture, enriching the artistic heritage of the human body, which became the source of European art. After the long night of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance gradually restored the vitality of nude art. Since the rise of classicism, the human body has served as an aesthetic object, a subject for creation, and a means of basic training, playing an irreplaceable positive role to this day."
Foreign art academies have offered nude model teaching courses for hundreds of years. In China, modern art education introduced nude model drawing starting with pioneers like Li Shu Tong, and it has had eight to nine decades of experience. Practice has proven that offering nude model drawing courses is highly beneficial for both the basic education of art and the development of modern civilization. To meet the needs of art academies across the country for nude model teaching and creative reference, we organized the shooting and printing of this small album, Practical Nude Model Photography.
The album is divided into four poses: lying, standing, kneeling, and sitting. Most poses are captured with a panoramic, four-directional still shot, allowing learners to gain a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the movement patterns of the human skeleton and skin in a particular pose. The images are all shot by current professional models from Chinese art academies, following teaching requirements, ensuring standardized poses and healthy appearances. The photography pays attention to aspects such as lighting position, tonal control, and texture effects, which are key concerns in modern photographic art, to better explore and express the youthful beauty, health, and vitality of the human body, making the images highly appreciable.
