Features: The Records of the Grand Historian is a magnificent masterpiece forged with blood and life by Sima Qian, authentically and vividly recording over three thousand years of history from the legendary Yellow Emperor to the Taichu period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It can be said to be the culmination of ancient Chinese civilization. The Mirror for Governing Heavens and Earth was completed by Sima Guang with his life's devotion, tracing major historical events in ancient China by chronological order, with a focus on exploring the successes and failures of rulers in governing the state and the rise and fall of dynasties. Sima Guang's The Mirror for Governing Heavens and Earth and Sima Qian's The Records of the Grand Historian are hailed as the twin gems of historical heritage in China. For children, they are excellent teaching materials for understanding and learning about history and life's wisdom. Therefore, we have carefully selected some well-known passages from The Records of the Grand Historian and The Mirror for Governing Heavens and Earth, rewriting them into simple, vivid, and philosophical short stories. We have also used concise language to interpret the profound wisdom they contain, helping children understand history and learn the of how to be a person and do things. To make this book more suitable for children to read, we have invited painters to create lively and interesting color illustrations for each story and added Pinyin annotations to the text. We believe that young readers will certainly understand history, familiarize themselves with traditional culture, and gain knowledge and wisdom through engaging in conversations with the ancients in the process of easy reading.
