What is leukemia?

Patient's question:

Yesterday, while giving my 8-year-old child a bath, I noticed several purple spots on their legs. They said they were from falling, but I don't think it looks like a bruise from a fall. Could this be a sign of a blood disorder? How can I check if it's leukemia?

Doctor's answer:

Leukemia is a general term, and there are many types of leukemia. The most common ones in medicine include: sepsis, thalassemia, thrombocytopenia, hematopoietic dysfunction, etc.! Some of them are caused by malnutrition and severe anemia; some are due to a lack of hematopoietic function in the bone marrow; and others are congenital diseases (genetic diseases). Long-term exposure to the aforementioned substances increases the risk of illness by 3 to 10 times compared to those who do not come into contact with them.
In terms of nutrition: A lack of or imbalance in vitamins, minerals, as well as proteins, fats, sugars, and fiber in the diet can all lead to internal environment disorders.
