Features: Edward Lear must be regarded as one of the most peculiar figures in the history of British literature, both in the past and now. With what he considered mere pastimes, Edward Lear had managed to occupy an inconspicuous place in the hall of fame, until the literary world of the 19th century declared these works highly favored. Edward Lear is renowned worldwide as the pioneer of British "nonsense" poetry, while the things he seriously pursued and regarded as his vocation were landscape painting.
