The Ministry of Education's Examination Center has released the "Examination Syllabus," stipulating that the examination content covers fundamental historical knowledge, basic theories, basic historical materials, and essential skills, adhering to the principles of science, fairness, security, and standardization. The evaluation criteria are set at the level of passing or above that achievable by outstanding undergraduate students in history majors from universities, aiming to facilitate universities and research institutions in selecting candidates with excellence for enrollment and ensuring the quality of master's degree programs. This book is compiled in close alignment with the 2007 National Master's Degree Entrance Unified Examination Syllabus for Historical Studies issued by the Ministry of Education's Examination Center. Guided by the principles of convenience for candidates and practicality, the book systematically studies and compares various textbooks commonly used in history departments across universities nationwide. Following the scope and examination structure stipulated by the Ministry of Education, it categorizes knowledge points that can be tested in multiple-choice, definition, and short-answer formats into corresponding examination sections. For the convenience of candidates' review, wavy underlines are used beneath knowledge points that may appear in multiple-choice questions, while light shading is applied above knowledge points that may appear in definition questions. For all types of questions in the practice exercises, corresponding answers are provided along with the page numbers. For source analysis questions that cannot be covered in the knowledge summary section, reference answers are formulated at the end of the questions.
