Publishing Date: 2006-10-01
Features: Zizhi Tongjian is a monumental historical work that condenses the political actions and power struggles of ancient China. It is a must-read for ancient emperors to learn from the past and govern wisely. Nine hundred years later, Mr. Bao Yang spent ten years (1983-1993) translating it into modern language, personally redrawing maps, and infusing his own perspectives. He discusses the causes of historical success and failure, making a history book originally intended only for emperors and generals so approachable for today's readers.
