Features: The "Newly Compiled Primary Education Textbook," published in the early summer of the 27th year of the Guangxu reign (1901 AD), was an innovative textbook for primary education. This book was used as an introductory textbook in the affiliated primary school of Nanyang Public College (Navy College). It is divided into three parts—Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3—allowing children to progress systematically in their reading. This pioneering textbook for primary education attracted new educational concepts and linguistic theories introduced from the West. Renowned linguist Mr. Zhang Zhigong once wrote a book titled "An Initial Exploration of Traditional Chinese Language Education," which provides a detailed introduction to traditional primary education reading materials, listing various late Qing Dynasty primary education textbooks in the preface. One of the outstanding features of the "Newly Compiled Primary Education Textbook" is its introduction of newly introduced grammatical concepts to China. The first part of the textbook consists of 150 lessons, completely organized according to major grammatical categories, closely integrating character recognition with grammatical concepts.
