Due to the imitation of lions by royal and noble families and government officials for celebrations and the New Year, lions were regarded as auspicious creatures. As a result, the people imitated this tradition, using lions for festivals, celebrating harvests, joyous and sorrowful events, warding off evil, and decorating homes, making the "unusual lion" visible everywhere. Why is it called "unusual"? Because the creators or craftsmen who made the lions had never seen real lions. The original forms of the carved lions all came from folk lion dances or the lion images passed down from previous generations. Unlike today, when we can see lions on TV, media, or in zoos, back then, people had no such access. Thus, the "unusual lions" were born. In this book, the author adopts a humorous dialogue between lions and lions, playfully "telling" stories about lions, making it engaging for readers to appreciate the hundreds of lions without monotony, as if reading a comic. It objectively and realistically depicts the carved images of lions. Perhaps it can allow lion-loving collectors to appreciate the ancient people's "blue sky" among the numerous artistic styles.
