Features: The transition period between the Ming and Qing dynasties was a time of great historical turmoil and social upheaval, with complex interwoven contradictions. In March 1644, the Fengmin Army captured Beijing, and the Ming Chongzhen Emperor committed suicide. Subsequently, the Qing forces entered the capital, Li Zicheng was defeated, and the newly established Daxun regime quickly disintegrated. During the Qing forces' southward advance, the fierce resistance of the people in Jiangnan became unprecedented in history, shifting class contradictions to a secondary position and elevating ethnic contradictions to the forefront. In various regions of Jiangnan, rebel forces rose one after another, and many patriotic scholars bravely joined the anti-Qing struggle. During the Ming-Qing transition, Chen Zilong, with his exceptional talent, literary prowess, and unyielding national spirit, became a representative of patriotic scholars of the time. His poetry, characterized by its bold, profound, and majestic style, is imbued with the sincere sentiments of national concern and noble patriotic ideals. Wu Weiye praised his poems as "exceptionally lofty, magnificent, and majestic, surpassing all his contemporaries," while Wang Shizhen remarked that his poetry is "profound, majestic, and magnificent, unmatched by any modern author, perhaps even surpassing ancient masters." The Collected Poems of Chen Zilong was originally part of the "Chinese Classical Literature Series" published by our company. For this reprint, both the content and layout remain unchanged, with both plain and deluxe editions available.
