Features: Feng Shi Wen Jian Ji is a collection of anecdotes compiled by Feng Yan during the Tang Dynasty. The extant version consists of ten volumes. The first six volumes record historical customs and examine the origins of various objects; the seventh and eighth volumes primarily document historical sites, supplemented by miscellaneous discussions; the last two volumes focus exclusively on the anecdotes and biographies of Tang Dynasty scholars and officials. Among the surviving Tang Dynasty notebooks, Feng Shi Wen Jian Ji enjoys high reputation. The Siku Quanshu Zongmu Tieshu praises it as "supported by verifiable evidence" and "clearly tracing origins and developments." Mr. Zhao Zhenxin extensively consulted various editions and incorporated previous collation results to compile the book Feng Shi Wen Jian Ji Jiaozhu.
