Features: Dongfang Forum is jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shanghai Association of Social Sciences. The venues for Dongfang Forum are spread across all districts and counties in the city, receiving widespread praise from all sectors of society. The founding philosophy of Dongfang Forum is "people-oriented, serving the public, spreading knowledge, and enhancing civilization." Through operational mechanisms such as serializing lectures, branding the image, networking management, menu-style lecture selection, socializing audience organization, contractual recruitment of faculty, sustainable project expansion, strong promotion and publicity, and diversified funding sources, Dongfang Forum strives to shape a new brand in the construction of ideological and cultural development. To further expand the social influence of high-quality lecture resources, the Dongfang Forum Office began compiling and publishing Dongfang Forum in 2005. The 24 lecture manuscripts included in this volume are the first batch selected from over 1,000 lectures, now compiled into a book to be enjoyed by readers.
