Features: The discovery of the Xianggang Nanyue King's Tomb is no less than opening a treasure trove of historical and cultural heritage in the Lingnan region. In the 1970s, a shipbuilding site from the era of the unification of the Lingnan region by the Qin Dynasty was found in the old city of Guangzhou on Zhongshan Fourth Road. In the 1980s, the Nanyue King's Tomb was discovered, and in the 1990s, the site of the Nanyue Kingdom's palace was found. These three major discoveries were hailed as the "Three Great Discoveries of Qin and Han Archaeology in Guangzhou." Because these three sites were all found during construction projects and were subsequently protected on-site, they are regarded as exemplary models of excavation, protection, reasonable utilization, and enhanced management in cultural relic and archaeological work. We have selected typical excavation cases, striving to include as much information as possible about the entire process of a particular excavation, as well as data helpful in understanding the ancient history and geographical environment of the site.
