Features: The Collected Works of Mao Zedong includes 803 documents by Mao Zedong, serving as a comprehensive multi-volume collection of Mao's works that reflects the scientific system of Mao Zedong Thought. It fills the gap left by the absence of a selected collection of Mao's writings during the socialist period. The editorial work of the Collected Works spanned eight years and was published in three installments. The Collected Works only selects documents with correct or basically correct content. For manuscripts and previously published speeches or records of conversations, the editorial work primarily involved verifying historical facts and correcting text and punctuation. For speeches or records of conversations that had not been previously published, significant effort was required for technical textual editing. The annotations in the Collected Works primarily focus on explaining people, events, quotations, documents, and introducing Mao Zedong's ideological viewpoints related to the main text through annotations, or correcting inaccuracies. We extensively researched materials, consulted experts, and conducted rigorous verification to ensure the annotations were as complete as possible. The Collected Works of Mao Zedong is another comprehensive multi-volume collection of Mao's works that reflects the scientific system of Mao Zedong Thought, following the Selected Works of Mao Zedong from Volume I to Volume IV. The editorial work of this Collected Works began in 1992 and was fully completed by 1999, lasting eight years. The Collected Works consists of eight volumes, published by the People's Publishing House and released in three installments. Volume I and Volume II were published in 1993 on the centenary of Mao Zedong's birth, Volume III, Volume IV, and Volume V were published in 1996 on the 20th anniversary of Mao Zedong's death, and Volume VI, Volume VII, and Volume VIII were published on July 1, 1999. Volumes I to V contain works from the democratic revolution period, while Volumes VI to VIII contain works from the socialist period. The total selection includes 803 documents, with 504 from the democratic revolution period and 299 from the socialist period.
