Features: Idioms are an important part of Chinese colloquial expressions. They are vivid, lively, witty, and humorous, with strong expressive functions, and have always been favored by the public. In recent decades, the collection and research of idioms have made considerable progress, but in certain aspects, there are inconsistencies in approaches. This dictionary includes over 4,000 common Chinese idioms from ancient and modern times. Entries are arranged in alphabetical order according to the Pinyin system. Characters with the same number of syllables are ordered by the International Standard Chinese Character Set (GB2312). Characters outside the standard set are listed first. The book contains over 450 idiomatic example sentences, which we selected directly from more than 680 literary works and periodicals such as Story World, Folk Literature, and Classic of Mountains and Seas over a period of two and a half years. The definitions are designed to be concise and accurate.
