Features: Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1945-2005) and the Victory of the World War Against Fascism. During the Japanese invasion of China, to make up for the lack of domestic labor, Japan captured a large number of Chinese prisoners of war and civilians to work as forced laborers in Japan. Among them, nearly a thousand Chinese laborers captured and sent to the Hakkō Mine in Akita Prefecture, Japan, were forced to work on the diversion project of the Hakkō River. Under the heavy labor, starvation, cold, and brutal killings, the number of deaths continued to rise. Unable to endure the inhuman humiliation and torture, the Chinese laborers in Hakkō Middle Dormitory rebelled and staged a heroic and resolute uprising. Although the uprising was eventually brutally suppressed, more than 400 people were tortured to death. But the Chinese laborers trapped in the enemy country, even at the cost of their heads being split and blood flowing, upheld the dignity of the nation and the dignity of the Chinese people, demonstrating noble national spirit and human justice. The author of this book was one of the central figures behind the planning of the uprising. He recorded his firsthand experiences fighting in the heart of the enemy country in a literary form, creating a vivid and truthful account that is both thrilling and invaluable. Our publishing house published this book in September 1957. On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the 60th Anniversary of the Victory of the World War Against Fascism, this revised and reissued book is dedicated to the countless Chinese laborers who died in foreign lands, and also to those who are alive today: history must never be forgotten.
