How to solve edema after circumcision surgery

Patient's question:

I had a circumcision surgery on November 9th due to excessive foreskin, but until today, there is still swelling at the frenulum. The hospital where I had the surgery said it's normal, but the swelling hasn't gone down at all. Did they do something wrong? I'm very worried. It's been almost a month, and I'm so frustrated.

Doctor's answer:

After the anesthetic effect wears off, there may be mild pain and swelling at the wound. Medication should be taken regularly. Usually, symptoms will subside within three days, and the wound will heal within seven to ten days. Before the wound fully heals, follow the doctor's instructions and return for regular follow-up check-ups. Additionally, keep the surgical wound clean and dry. When urinating, be careful not to wet the gauze. If the gauze gets soaked with urine, remove it first and then return to the outpatient clinic for a dressing change.
