Features: The development of academic undertakings is like the Yangtze River and Yellow River, with waves following waves, endless and flowing. It is also like the passing of the torch, with each generation succeeding the next, with ever brighter brilliance. The Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has gathered dozens of senior experts from dozens of disciplines in our institution, who have decades of research experience in their respective fields and have made significant contributions in their areas. The published series features representative works selected by each expert from their academic careers, bringing them together for publication. This not only showcases their diligent academic journey but also reflects the partial achievements and development in various fields of philosophy and social sciences in China over the past few decades, especially since the reform and opening-up. It is a highly meaningful endeavor.
The Collected Works of Zhou ShuLian include 48 papers written by the author between 1961 and 2004, organized into eight parts for easier reading. These are:
1. On agriculture as the foundation of the national economy
2. On industrialization and the modernization of the national economy
3. On economic development strategies
4. On industrial restructuring and upgrading
5. On economic system reform
6. On the reform of socialist enterprises
7. On enterprise management
8. On the sustainable development of socialism.
The articles in each part are generally arranged in chronological order of writing, with a few exceptions where the order is arranged by content. Among the 48 papers collected in this book, four were written before the "Cultural Revolution" in 1966, and the rest were written after the overthrow of the "Gang of Four."
